Concentration of NORM (238U, 232Th and their decay products) and Cs-137 in air particulate at around the NPP site candidate in West Kalimantan

Measurements of natural radionuclide (NORMs) and artificial in airborne particulates obtained from around prospective site area Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), West Kalimantan, Bengkayang have been carried out. In the NPP development plan, data potential sites should be measured to determine baseline environmental data. The objective research was obtain ambient air quality radiological aspects gamma transmitter area. is then used compile documents related location permits plan. Sampling out February April 2020, at locations up 10 km (Sungai Raya Village, Bengkayang, Kalimantan). using a Gamma Spectrometer with HP Ge detector analysis Maestro software. results showed that there were several radionuclides 238U their decay series (226Ra, 210Pb), 232Th (228Th), 40K, 137Cs particulate samples. general, concentration activity (238U, series) still below threshold value Indonesian Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN), while within world range. Natural sequence are estimated purely environment, whereas fallout.
